Why the killing in Nigeria North
AN OPEN LETTER FROM THE HAUSA CHRISTIANS FOUNDATION (HACFO) TO ALL OUR IGBO, YORUBA AND SOUTHERN CHRISTIANS RESIDENT IN NORTHERN NIGE
RIA
SUBJECT: WHAT WILL BE YOUR LEGACY IN THE NORTHERN NIGERIA?
(We Know that Saying this truth can be costly, but we chose to say it still, because only the Truth in Jesus Sets Free)
To all our Igbo, Yoruba and Southern Christians resident in Northern Nigeria, today we specially write to sympathize as well as fellowship with you in your pains over the attacks, assaults and killings you suffer from over your lives and properties. We want to make it clear that we detest to see how you are always treated despite the development you brought to Northern Nigeria.
Hatred for the Igbo, Yoruba and Southern Christians living in northern Nigeria is one of the fundamental teachings every northern Muslim receives right from an early age. This teaching has nothing to do with the cultures of the Northerners but their religious teachings. Almost Every Muslim in Northern Nigeria is raised and indoctrinated to believe that you people are infidels and half bred humans (although that's how all the indigenous northern Christians are seen and treated as well).
These people laugh and relate with you when they want something from you but mistreat you when you want something from them. They burn your businesses, houses and kill people at the slightest opportunity with or without any provocations. They believe that "Sabo da Kaza baya hana yanka", in other words your friendship with them is as good as that of a chicken. A chicken is rared only for the day of slaughter. No matter how big or good it is, it is only good for slaughtering no matter how long it takes.
It pains us to see such continued. We cannot relate why shops and business are always plundered, burnt down and lives killed over and over again. This has been the fate and experiences of the Igbo, Yoruba and Southern Christians living in Northern Nigeria.
The principal sponsors of this evil are mostly their religious leaders who glory in brainwashing their followers. They hate to see their people empowered, educated, and liberated, because that is a threat to their status.
Even thought the Igbo, Yoruba and Southern Christians are not the problem of Northern Nigeria, they are always attacked, killed and their investments destroyed just to distract the attention of the people from the main problem.
In reality, the Northern Nigeria cannot stand and survive without the contributions and investment of you people. If not for you, there wouldn't have been quality education, and any significant development in the northern Nigeria.
We are aware of the facts that many of you are threatened and taxed beyond the normal. Many of you were taxed just so as not to get your businesses burnt or closed down, yet they were burnt down. We cannot Imagine a day without you people in the north, we really don't pray for that. We cannot count the number of people you empowered and mentored and the business that started because of your love for the north.
Having observed the event of things as they keep unfolding, you are always the first target of any assaults by the Muslims in Northern Nigeria even before the Northern Christians. Here are our observations however; many of you prefer to relate with them than the Northern Christians. You sponsored schools, and even mosques but you hardly build schools and churches for the Northern Christians. Majority of you are surrounded by them even in your houses as your most trusted fellows, yet they turned against you and betray you in favour of their religion. We understand that you do so as to at least protect your businesses, but Never you forget that "Sabo da Kaza baya hana yanka". They keep you when they need you, and kill you when they don't need you. So many of you even sponsor their political candidates but you can't support the services of a lawyer who stands to fights for the rights of the Northern Christians.
Here is our question, what legacy do you want to live behind in Northern Nigeria. We are proud of you as our fellow Christians, but you mostly leave us stranded when we need you to stand with us.
At the moment, Missionaries are stranded in many places for lack of food, medical facilities, schools and resources to further the gospel, but most of you abandon us but do sponsor that of those who always cause you pains.
There are about 90 million Hausa Speaking People in Northern Nigeria yet no radio and TV stations broadcasting the Gospel 24 hours to reach them, yet you sponsor their political and religious campaigns with millions of Nigeria.
What will be your legacy? Why did God send you to Northern Nigeria as Christians?
We acknowledge that a very few of you are really making a huge difference in the Kingdom, but majority of you are not supportive of the Gospel in Northern Nigeria.
The Hausa Christians Foundation and all the Northern Christians are not a party and can nevery be a party to the abuse, assaults and destruction you suffer daily in the North. We see you as our precious family in Christ. And we want you to remain in the North, but we have to live with the Kingdom Advancement Mindset. Now is the best time and opportunity we have to invest heavily towards the Gospel. You are all our Brothers and Sisters in Christ and Jesus must be lifted up in Northern Nigeria through us.
We really want you to partner with us in the Hausa Christians Foundation (HACFO) and any other ministry the Lord lays in your hearts to to ensure that the Gospel moves on no matter what.
Truly, the harvest is not just plentiful and ripe, but it is destroyed and stolen for not been harvested.
Let the Souls won to Christ in Northern Nigeria be your most treasured legacy in Northern Nigeria.
Thank you and God bless you.
